“Nancy From East Side Clover” is an award winning short film born out of an “L.A. A Queer History” interview with 84 year-­‐old butch, Chicana, Lesbian from East L.A. Nancy Valverde. Nancy tells her stories of being harassed and arrested endlessly bu the LAPD in the 1950’s under the discriminatory “Masquerading Law”, which forbade the wearing of clothing typically associated with the opposite sex.

After making it’s Los Angeles debut at Outfest Fusion in 2015, “Nancy” went on to screen in twelve film festivals around the world, winning five Audience Favorites Awards and Jury Prizes.
